Blog #3 – Christmas

Well, Christmas is over!  It was the best Christmas I have had in Thailand….yet!  But with that said, I am glad that it is over!  I just want to take a second to thank everyone who helped!  It is awesome to see how many people have come together to support us in our ministry!  We have had help from every race and religion and it has just been amazing to see how many people care about our kids!  Putting everything together has been stressful but could not have done it without the help of our team.  We put in a lot of work to make this day awesome for the kids, a lot of late nights and sore hands, but it was all worth it.

Our Christmas day celebration went off without a hitch!  Well, to be honest there were a few hitches but it was awesome!  We were able to meet some new people from from the community and a bunch of new kids came and saw what we were doing.  We made at least 1 new regular attender who has one child which is awesome!  We made people aware that we are still, we just moved buildings! All of the children left happy, actually they didn’t leave!  After we closed the church and cleaned all the kids came back.  One of the problems with the area we are in, doesn’t have room for kids to really play, besides the parking lot.  We stayed in the church for about 3 or 4 hours playing with the kids and their toys, talking and learning more about the kids.  It was a blast and we all enjoyed just hanging out.

I can safely say that we all enjoy the work we are doing and I hope that the kids also enjoy program we have started.  We are working harder, thinking harder, and praying harder about what we can do to make our programs better and more effective.  We have experienced set backs and failures and everything bad that you can imagine but we never gave up.  I’m sure that we will experience more failure and more setback but we are not going to let that fear of failure stop us.  God has given us a call to help.  The call was not to give up when its hard, not to give up when you don’t now what your doing, and not to give up when people don’t agree.  The call is to go and do, and to give hope, love, and opportunity to those who have none!

2 Corinthians 15:7

Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded
