This is Kartun, she is 14 yrs old. She told us yesterday that she thought we sold ยาบ้า(meth)! My wife and I started laughing and said, “What!?!?!”

Last year we met her and paid for her and her sister to go to school. She thought to herself, “How can these people pay for so many kids without having a job?” Apparently, she asked our other kids how we did it and they told her, “When you serve God, He gives you money.”

Well, she didn’t believe that. She made up a narrative in her mind that we were selling meth and paying for kids to go to Christian school with all of our drug money! My wife and I are still laughing about this.

Since we moved into our new house we can see how people could think we are selling drugs. Most people don’t understand that when you do what God wants you to, God provides everything you need! He even goes above and beyond what you need!

In my wildest dreams I never thought I would live in a house this big, have a family this big or that God would be this big in my life. I have continually limited God. I have had little faith and have only asked for small miracles.

To be honest I’m a little ashamed to have a house like this because it is too nice and too big. I am slowly coming to grips with the fact that we need a house this big. I don’t feel like a real missionary. Not like the missionaries I read about. Kartun’s comment made me think about how other people see us and how crazy our lives must be to other people. Man, How crazy are we? Is it crazy if it works? Does God love when people have crazy ideas? Crazy faith? Crazy love?

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭KJV

The girl on the far right... her name is Preaw she was given a new start on life when she came into contact with Joshandchitty Bauder who run the mission “Jesus4slumkids”( you can look them up @Jesus4slumkids.org.) Anyway long story short, she accepted Christ and has been doing a lot of mission work in spreading the Gospel to her friends and neighbors in the village where she now lives. Yet God has called this girl to help her own brothers and sisters out of the slums around where she herself had spent a large part of her younger years. She visited Bangkok recently and brought her young brother and sister to us. She’s now on her way back to Bangkok to pick up another brother and take him to a mission in Phuket where he will be given a job and learn about God as well. Oh and did I mention that this dear girl is only 18years old?

Praise God!

We are a husband and wife who love God!  We live in Mae teang, Thailand and we have too many kids!  We have 6 teenagers from 13-18 years old!  We worked in the Bangkok slum around On Nut 49 for 2 years before the Lord called us to take care of scholarship kids here in Mae teang.  We have a passion for discipleship and teens.

Daonin was cut out on the right side! (FYI I’m not very good at websites)

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:18-20

This verse Motivates us to teach young people how to live a life that is consistent with the teachings of the Bible and show them what a life in service to God looks like.  Everyday we spend time in learning the Bible and praising God.  I will be the first to admit that we are not perfect in our actions or in our theology, but we are striving everyday to get closer to Jesus and show these kids the love of God.

Most of these kids are not your classic “scholarship kids”, as most of them come from very bad situations.  They come from houses and families that are full of drug abuse, alcohol abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse.  These kids have been hurt and damaged by the people closest to them, the people who were supposed to protect them from the dangers of this world.  Many have been abandoned and given up on by the people who are supposed to love them unconditionally and support them.  We hope to show them what a real family looks like, what the love of a mother and father looks like and what it looks like to be a member of a large family.  We hope to give them an example so they have something to model their families after.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

James 1:27

The slums of Thailand are full of people who have been forgotten, neglected, and thrown away.  There are the elderly, handicapped, drug addicts, drug dealers, prostitutes, and the children of all of them.  They are living their lives broken and bankrupt struggling to get by until the day that they die.  They live in shacks, under bridges and in hallways with up to 15 people in one “house” struggling to get enough food for everyone.

The kids at our home are all awesome, even though they don’t have much they’re happy with what they have.  We hope to show them how to live a good and godly life, they have been lacking good parents or good role models and were forced to look up to drug dealers and prostitutes.  Little boys doing the things that grown men do and little girls dressing like bar girls, and it breaks my heart to see these things.  These kids need love and are finding it in all the wrong places and we hope to show these kids how to find the love they seek in Jesus.
