  • Two Christmas beauties
  • This is how you hang candy canes when you have never experienced Christmas or seen a Christmas tree. She tied it on upside down! Its gonna be a great Christmas!
  • I honestly don’t think we could have one without the other! The love, puke, poop and tears that have been shared between these two, will keep them forever bonded. The love the Preaw has for Evangeleen is special. To see these 2 interact and hear “Bow!” Almost as much as we hear daddy or mommy, really shows the love goes both ways. Without Preaw we would have already gone insane. I can honestly saw Preaw is the glue that holds us together. Is she perfect? No, but she is perfect for us. We love her so much and our mission
  • I asked the kids, “what does it mean to have a loving God?” They took 10 mins to think about what it means. This was the result.

Welcome to Jesus4slumkids.org!

We are a husband and wife who love God!  We live in Mae teang, Thailand and we have too many kids!  We have 6 teenagers from 13-18 years old!  We worked in the Bangkok slum around On Nut 49 for 2 years before the Lord called us to take care of scholarship kids here in Mae teang.  We have a passion for discipleship and teens.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:18-20

This verse motivates us to teach young people how to live a life that is consistent with the teachings of the Bible and show them what a life in service to God looks like.  Everyday we spend time in learning the Bible and praising God.  I will be the first to admit that we are not perfect in our actions or in our theology, but we are striving everyday to get closer to Jesus and show these kids the love of God.

Most of these kids are not your classic “scholarship kids”, as most of them come from very bad situations.  They come from houses and families that are full of drug abuse, alcohol abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse.  These kids have been hurt and damaged by the people closest to them, the people who were supposed to protect them from the dangers of this world.  Many have been abandoned and given up on by the people who are supposed to love them unconditionally and support them.  We hope to show them what a real family looks like, what the love of a mother and father looks like and what it looks like to be a member of a large family.  We hope to give them an example so they have something to model their families after.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

James 1:27

The slums of Thailand are full of people who have been forgotten, neglected, and thrown away.  There are the elderly, handicapped, drug addicts, drug dealers, prostitutes, and the children of all of them.  They are living their lives broken and bankrupt struggling to get by until the day that they die.  They live in shacks, under bridges and in hallways with up to 15 people in one “house” struggling to get enough food for everyone.

The kids at our home are all awesome, even though they don’t have much they’re happy with what they have.  We hope to show them how to live a good and godly life, they have been lacking good parents or good role models and were forced to look up to drug dealers and prostitutes.  Little boys doing the things that grown men do and little girls dressing like bar girls, and it breaks my heart to see these things.  These kids need love and are finding it in all the wrong places and we hope to show these kids how to find the love they seek in Jesus.
